Now having the luxury of being retired, I have more time to concentrate on doing what I love.
Creating art of all different kinds.
This started by changing my website host and building a new website. For anyone who has done this with limited knowledge like myself, it's not easy and very much a learning and time consuming curve!
So the design and content is ongoing, aswell as my use of Google to keep asking " How do I do this!?"
Projects & News
My artwork will be on show in Nairn Community & Arts Centre from Monday 4th May to Friday 29th May.
Along with myself, the exhibition will host another artist from Nairn, Maureen Firth.
Our launch night is on Tuesday 5th May at 6.30pm.
There will be a varied selection of art on show, something for everyone.
Come and join us for nibbles and drinks upstairs, all welcome.
We are both members of Nairn Arts Society which is a little haven of all things creative and crafty. A place to meet up with likeminded friends, share a cuppa, chat and laughs. Oh and also paint and craft!
If you like the sound of that then pop in and see us. https://nairnartssociety.co.uk/

My current works in progress
I always have one or sometimes two pieces ongoing in my studio.
This one will probably be some sort of seascape. I find with these, I just go with my flow and if I like what is happening then I keep going with it. I have recently discovered Liquitex Acrylic spray tins, They are so much fun to use alongside normal paint out of a tube.
This piece is on a 10 x 10 inch box board canvas from ACF Canvasses.

My first Aurora oil painting
I haven't painted with oils for a couple of years. There is an upcoming workshop in 2 weeks time in Laing Hall where NAS (Nairn Art Society) is located. Our tutor for the day is Jonathon Luxon and the topic is Copying a Masterpiece.
This is something I'm really looking forward to, as they say 'every day is a school day'. With art, you never stop learning and I have chosen a Van Gogh piece as my subject This will be in oils so I thought, get my oil paints out and paint an aurora using oil paints.
I like a challenge :-)
Watch this space to see how both pieces turn out!
This one is on a 50 x 50cm canvas.
